But it can be made to feel more complicated than it needs to be.

That’s why we want to demystify LED: to make an established skincare technology easier to understand, easier to navigate, and simpler to incorporate into everyday life.

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode.
LED skincare uses specific wavelengths of light as part of a non-invasive skincare routine.
Different wavelengths of light are used for different skincare goals, which is why LED devices offer different light modes.
LED technology uses specific wavelengths of light, measured in nanometres (nm). The wavelength determines the colour of the light and influences how it behaves when it reaches the skin.
In simple terms, longer-wavelength red light generally travels farther through the skin, while shorter-wavelength blue light is absorbed more readily closer to the skin’s surface.
Because different wavelengths are absorbed and scattered differently, they interact with the skin in different ways, which is why different light modes are used for different skincare goals

The GGC Targeted LED Patch uses 630nm Red Light and 460nm Blue Light, which can be used individually or together depending on your skincare goals.
Choose the light mode that best aligns with your skincare goals:

For routines focused on blemish-prone skin, surface blemishes and a clearer-looking complexion.

The GGC Targeted LED Patch is designed as an open system, giving you the freedom to incorporate LED alongside your existing skincare routine, without requiring a specific serum, formula or subscription.
The idea is simple: pair your chosen light mode with skincare that complements the same skin goal. Skincare and LED work in different ways, each bringing its own benefits to your routine.

Start with clean, dry skin.
Apply your preferred lightweight serum or moisturizer and allow it to absorb fully before using your LED patch.

Heavy Oils & Occlusive Products
Consider avoiding facial oils, thick balms and heavy occlusive formulas before use.
Use the patch on clean, dry skin or after a lightweight serum or moisturiser that has fully absorbed. Save richer or more occlusive products for after your LED session.
Ingredients that may Increase Sensitivity
Some skincare ingredients may increase skin sensitivity. Before using LED, consider avoiding:
Retinoids
Examples: Retinol, Retinal and prescription retinoids
Strong Exfoliating Acids
Examples: Glycolic Acid (AHA), Lactic Acid (AHA) and Salicylic Acid (BHA)
These products can still be part of your skincare routine. Consider using them after your LED session or at another time of day.
Intense Professional Treatments
Consider avoiding LED immediately after treatments such as chemical peels, microneedling or other intensive skin procedures.
Allow your skin time to return to a comfortable state before use.
